Why do I have to pay a fee? Doesn't the property owner usually pay the fee?In order for our service to work as well as it does we must allow the landlords to list for free. A property owner (even a pet lover) would just assume rent to someone without pets before someone with pets because of the potential risk involved of damage to an expensive investment. One of the things our "rental unit searchers" do (and do quite well) is actually convince landlords who have never rented to someone with pets before to give it a try... The fact that property owners and agents can list for free helps tremendously with this cause. It increases our listings by an estimated 65-70%! That being said, the person who has the most to gain is usually the one who pays the fee. In this case it's the renter who is a pet guardian. The landlords can just as easily rent to someone without pets (and in 90% of cases would prefer to), so the fee must be paid by the renter. Obviously, the fee goes to pay for all of the expenses involved in running this business: from rent, to salaries and benefits for our employees, to telephone and internet fees, accountants and lawyers, etc., etc., etc. Back to TopHow do you differ from the other websites that list pet friendly rentals? How do you choose the cities you work in?First of all, pet friendly rentals are all we do - it's 100% of our business. Most of the other websites claiming to have pet friendly rentals also deal in rentals for people without pets; the non-pet rentals account for a vast majority of their business. Additionally, most of the websites that have pet friendly apartments are national databases that are updated automatically without any human interaction and 99% of the units they list are apartment complexes. We have personal interaction with nearly every landlord and agent who lists on our site and only about 1% of the properties we list are apartment complexes; most are houses, duplexes, condos, etc. Back to TopWhere do you get your listings?Several Sources. First, and
foremost, the vast majority of our listings come from property owners/rental agents who prefer
to list with us because we speak to them personally, it's free, and more importantly, we've introduced them to great tenants in the past. Back to TopWhat types of properties do you list?Everything from very inexpensive studios in the "shady" part of town to $5,000 per month mansions. The majority of our properties are "average". They are the same as you would find in any other source for your city, etc. The only difference is that ours allow pets. Back to TopIf you're not based in my city how do you get so many listings here?Although our corporate headquarters are based in a different city we hire people familiar with every marketplace that we enter to help us find pet friendly rentals in those cities. Back to TopIf your service is so good why don't you offer a money-back guarantee? We do. Back to TopWhy is it so difficult to find places to rent with pets?In any popular marketplace (which is everyone that we serve) vacancy rates are low, so landlords can pick and choose who they rent to, so more times than not they're not sympathetic towards people with pets because pets propose potential added nuisances, so if they don't have to, they usually don't... Back to TopWhat if I don't find a place within 90 days?In the unlikely event that you do not find a place that suits you within your 90 day membership we will extend your membership for $10 per month.
